Here’s what’s happening from May 31 to June 7

The 2023 Pride Niagara Festival continues this week when the 10th Annual Pride in the Park returns to Montebello Park Saturday, June 3. The outdoor all ages event features with LGBTQ2+ friendly entertainment, family friendly activities, food and merch, music, dancing and more! Join Pride Niagara ambassadors Kamin and Eboni Parks at the Pride Prom, a night filled with dancing, performers and more Thursday, June 1. Shop, Sip and Savour in the Vineyard at the 11th edition of the Spring Handmade Market, taking place this weekend (June 2-3) and next at 13th Street Winery. The market features more than 120 Canadian makers, artists, food trucks and musicians each weekend. Tickets must be pre-purchased online in advance.

The Niagara River Lions‘ home opener is set for Saturday, June 3 at 7 p.m. at the Meridian Centre against the Saskatchewan Rattlers. Join the hunt and catch pro basketball in St. Catharines with the River Lions and the Canadian Elite Basketball League.

The St. Catharines Road Runners and Walkers will hold the 33rd annual Twelve Mile Creek Trail Half Marathon and 7k Race Saturday, June 3. 275 participants will toe the line for the annual trail race that meanders along the picturesque 12 Mile Creek Trail and sections of the historic Merritt Trail.

Comedy

Award-winning comedian Mark Debonis takes his stand-up show to the Showtime Comedy and Entertainment June 2-3. Doors open at 7 p.m. Shows start at 8 p.m.

Cultural

Brock University’s Department of Visual Arts presents Visible: An Exploration of Intersecting Identities, a community conversation showcasing work by Willow Arts Community members at the Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts.

Live Music

IndoorShoes Music & Warehouse Concert Hall present an evening with Chris Murphy of Sloan at the Warehouse Concert Hall in Thursday, June 1 in St. Catharines. On Friday, June 2, also at the Warehouse, the 97.7 HTZ-FM’s Rocksearch competition continues its legendary hunt for the best new rock band across Southern Ontario.

Market season at Hernder Estate Winery kicks off on May 31. Every Wednesday from May 31 to October 18 Hernder will be hosting a farmers market, featuring fresh produce and craft vendors, from 1:30-4:30 p.m. and a supper market, featuring food trucks, wine, beer and live entertainment, from 4:30-8 p.m.

Each week will be a little different so follow Hernder Events on Facebook and Instagram for updates. Farmers and Supper Markets are family and dog friendly. Free parking available.

Experience the St. Catharines Farmers Market and enjoy everything Niagara grows, bakes, and makes in our community. The St. Catharines Farmers Market is open year-round on Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
