2020 Was a Year Like No Other
The City of St. Catharines is honoured to be a 2021 Ontario Tourism Resiliency Awards Finalist in Innovation for PickUpSTC.ca. Winners will be announced Wednesday, October 27th at the Ontario Tourism Summit.
From the onset of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the City took a lead role in engaging and supporting the business community and charting a course for recovery by redefining how to utilize corporate expertise, existing assets, capacities, partnerships, strengths and resources.
Moving quickly and leading the Niagara Region in implementing a resource to help businesses and consumers connect easily, the City launched PickUpSTC.ca on April 1, 2020.
We could not have done it without the engagement and support you, our partners, provided us.
This award is reflective of the times and recognizes the achievements of tourism businesses regardless of operating status in a year that was so very different for the tourism industry.
The Tourism Industry of Ontario (TIAO) in partnership with Attractions Ontario, The Culinary Tourism Alliance, Indigenous Tourism Ontario and OTEC is proud to present these special awards which are unique to this year and have been designed to reflect resiliency through innovation, collaboration and partnership.
The City is proud to have worked with our business community and partners and for the positive impact these programs have had for St. Catharines during the Covid-19 pandemic. We are honoured to be among the other Destination Marketing Organizations also recognized as finalists for the good work they’ve been doing supporting their communities.
Congratulations to all the 2021 Ontario Tourism Resiliency Award Finalists!
