Posted on January 19, 2026

The Family Day long weekend is coming up, and it’s the perfect time to create memories with the whole gang! St. Catharines has plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained, no matter the age! From skating and bowling to thrilling go-kart rides and hands-on learning, here are five ways to make this winter break unforgettable.

1. Strike Up Some Fun at Parkway Social

Looking for a cozy indoor activity? Parkway Social will be open on Family Day and has you covered with bowling, delicious food and drinks, and a lively atmosphere perfect for families. Whether you’re aiming for strikes or just enjoying time together, it’s a great way to spend a winter afternoon.

2. Race Your Heart Out at K1 Speed

For the thrill-seekers in the family, K1 Speed offers indoor go-karting for all ages. Kids ages 3–7 can even race on Canada’s first kids track, while older family members can feel the adrenaline on the full-speed adult track. It’s fast, fun, and unforgettable!

Open this Family Day from 2-9pm.

3. Visit the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre

Make Family Day magical with a visit to the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre! Families can choose between the laugh-out-loud, interactive magic of Mind Kontrol by Mega Magic, or the gentle, imaginative circus performance Flora & Fauna, designed especially for early years audiences. With two unique shows happening on February 16, it’s an easy win for a fun and memorable day downtown.

4. Step Back in Time at St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre

Learn and explore together at the St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre this Family Day! Inspired by the temporary You Are Here map exhibit, families can enjoy a full day of hands-on activities focused on maps, movement, and local history. From map-themed storytime and crafts to interactive transportation tours and a skill-testing wayfinding adventure, there’s something for all ages. Don’t miss the once-a-year opportunity to go behind the scenes in the museum’s Collections vaults. No registration required, admission by donation, and fun guaranteed for the whole family.

5. Family Day Public Skates

Get moving this Family Day with public skating at Seymour-Hannah and Bill Burgoyne arenas! Lace up your skates and enjoy some fun on the ice with the whole family. Perfect for all ages and skill levels. Come warm up, spin around, and make Family Day memories in St. Catharines. Register online at ActiveSTC program registration – St. Catharines.
