Il Barretto was founded by husband-and-wife duo John and Sandra, two creatives from different worlds coming together to build something special. John’s background in film and television and Sandra’s expertise in architecture and interior design have fueled a decade of creative entrepreneurship, from opening a lifestyle boutique to growing DaVinci Cinema Productions.
In October 2024, Sandra launched a mobile charcuterie business, which led the couple to a small space inside Picasso’s Hair Salon, making it easier for customers to enjoy their offerings. That space quickly grew into Il Barretto, a beloved local destination.
Just eight weeks after opening, a viral post on social media helped Il Barretto thrive, inspiring the addition of a second-floor aperitivo lounge, designed for daily guests, business meetings, and private events. With attention to detail in design, service, and menu offerings, Il Barretto Caffè is a destination for anyone looking to experience the charm, flavour, and social culture of Italy right here in St. Catharines.
