Join Suitcase in Point Wednesday, April 15th for a hometown rip of Deanna Jones’ sharp, hilarious and unexpectedly heartfelt one-woman show, A Brief History of Smoking Cigarettes.
This one-night-only performance is part of Suitcase in Point’s 25th Anniversary Season, and all proceeds from the evening will go toward our fundraising campaign to raise 25K for 25 years!
To help make this an extra special celebration, they’ve partnered with the good folks at Helliwell Hall and Di’s Pizza Pies to offer a great night with food and drinks in AN INCREDIBLE NEW VENUE. (Food and drinks subject to additional costs at event).
After the show, stick around for a post-show rip of rock anthems and catchy originals from local band Lego Money.
All in all, a pretty great night out.
Schedule for the night:
6PM – Doors / Pizza Service / Pre-show entertainment
7:30PM – Show
9PM – 11PM – Post Show Entertainment / Pizza Service
About the show:
A Brief History of Smoking Cigarettes is a dark comedy that follows Deanna’s personal history with cigarettes – and quite impossibly, THE ENTIRE GLOBAL HISTORY of cigarettes.
Using puppets, live music, video and playful audience interaction, this one-woman show explores how one of the biggest (and ugliest) industries in the world shaped history and influenced Deanna’s life.
Through the polarizing puff / pull of a cigarette, the play dives into it all, while imagining just how SPECTACULAR the play will be when it eventually gets funded by “Big Tobacco.”
