Running from May 24-27, 2023, the Garden City Comedy Festival is a celebration of all things funny in Niagara and is bringing some of Canada’s top comedians to St. Catharines for the annual four-day festival across multiple venues downtown, including the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre. It’s bloomin’ funny!

Festival Kick Off Show
Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 8 p.m.
Mahtay Café and Lounge – 241 St. Paul St.

The 5th annual Garden City Comedy Festival opens with the Jukebox Jokers Kick-Off Show. An evening of musical comedy at Mahtay Café and Lounge. Hosted by Jacob Bergsma, with performances by Joel Van Vliet, Rebecca Hardy, Levi Mann and headlined by the funky one-man party machine ‘Badunkafunk’! 

Niagara Comedy All-Stars
Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 8 p.m.
TCO Rooftop Terrace, Niagara Artists Centre – 354 St. Paul St.

A showcase of top local talent in Niagara up on the rooftop patio of the Niagara Artists CentreNiagara Comedy All-Stars features a stacked lineup of some of the funniest local comedians working the scene today. The evening will be hosted by award winning performer David Green and will feature such favourites as Taylor Grant (Niagara’s Top Comic Winner), Nik Duncan (Showtime Showdown Winner), Adam Wickens (30M+ Views on Youtube) and headlined by local comedy legend Mark Matthews.

Laughter from the Rooftop

TCO Rooftop Terrace, Niagara Artists Centre, 354 St Paul St.
This year’s Laughter from the Rooftop, the festival’s annual fundraiser for Birchway Niagara (formerly Women’s Place), features Brie Watson as host with performances by Amy Sloan, Allie Moore, Alicja Mencel and headliner Crystal Ferrier. There will be great raffles prizes to be won and lots of laughs up on the rooftop patio of the Niagara Artists Centre.

Garden City Comedy Festival Gala Night
Saturday, May 27,  2023 at 8 p.m.
FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre – 250 St. Paul Street, St. Catharines
The Garden City Comedy Festival returns to the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre for its 5th annual Gala Night! Don’t miss this laugh filled spectacle featuring some of Canada’s funniest comics. Hosted by Niagara’s own Joe Pillitteri and headlined by the Grande Dame of Canadian comedy Martha Chaves. Also featuring performances by Mark Little, Evan Carter, Cathy Boyd and Joze Piranianathy.
