GO Train adding more trips to St. Catharines

If you’ve been thinking about taking the GO Train to St. Catharines, here’s some good news for you: to connect more people some of Canada’s top tourist destinations, the Ontario government is increasing GO train service between Union Station and Niagara Falls, including more stops in St. Catharines, by 12 more round trips per week.

Starting May 20, weekday service to Niagara Falls, with stops at the St. Catharines VIA Station, will increase by two daily roundtrips and weekend service will increase by one daily roundtrip, for a total of 21 roundtrips per week. Weekend GO train service will have special seasonal bike coaches, providing passengers with the opportunity to bring along bicycles to explore the 56-kilometre Niagara River corridor.

GO Transit is making it easier to visit St. Catharines with its NEW $10 single-day weekend pass or $15 weekend pass.

  • Single day passes grant you unlimited travel all-day long on Saturday, Sunday or a statutory holiday, and is valid for every GO train station and bus route.
  • The $15 weekend pass is valid for unlimited travel ALL weekend (Saturdays, Sundays and statutory holidays too).

Best of all, kids 12 and under always ride GO transit for FREE.

GO riders now have the option to tap their debit and credit cards on Presto devices, making travelling by GO transit more convenient. GO riders can also access the GO Wi-Fi Plus service free of charge on all GO trains to stay connected while travelling.
