Let It Glow – A Celebration of Light is a family-friendly, outdoor festival featuring interactive light installations, entertainment, winter workshops and more.

Join us in Downtown St. Catharines for the kick off of Let it Glow- A Celebration of Light at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre. Enjoy entertainment on the outdoor stage featuring My Son the Hurricane, the Let it Glow Dance Production, and DJ Dave Styles.

Inside the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre, Roberston Theatre will be transformed into a winter wonderland with a special appearance from Santa from 5-8 p.m.

Shop the Let it Glow Holiday Vendor Market, featuring Black Owned 905, the Niagara Regional Native Centre and more, at the corner of St. Paul Street and James Street. Don’t miss the Betty-Lou Photo Booth and seats around one of the outdoor fire pits.

Join us in Port Dalhousie as we kick off Let it Glow with family parade from Lakeside Park to Rennie Park led by the Let it Glow Dance Production. Everyone will receive a glow stick and hot chocolate voucher for Captain’s Cabin.

Once at Rennie Park, make your way through an archway of light into the Magical Forest Park with a 360-degree Santa photo op inside! Take selfies with all the forest friends like deer, moose, beavers and more. Don’t miss a special performance from the Let it Glow Dance Production!

Winter at the Market

St. Catharines Winter at the Market is the place to be for one-stop holiday shopping on Thursday nights this season.

Choose from a selection of fine preserves, local wines, handmade items such as toys, games, jewelry, home decor, luxurious beauty products and more.

Winter at the Market will run for five weeks, every Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., starting Thursday, Nov. 17  and wrapping up December 15 at Market Square (91 King St.) downtown.

For fresh local produce, the St. Catharines Farmers Market will also continue to run on its regular days, Thursdays from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Those attending either Winter at the Market or the St. Catharines Farmers Market, should be aware of the COVID-19 healthy and safety guidelines, including that customers and vendor are required to wear a face mask to enter the markets.

The St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre tradition returns this December with the annual Mitten Tree Campaign.

Everyone is invited to help local families in need by dropping of winter clothing donations at the museum. Donations will be delivered weekly during the campaign to Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold and to Start Me Up Niagara to help local families.

This beautiful, outdoor holiday vendor market is in the heart of downtown at the corner of St. Paul and James streets. Ring in the New Year with free Public Skating at Seymour Hannah from 10 am to 12 pm. All 4 pads will be available for skaters.

One pad will be a glow in the dark experience where black lights will flood the ice. Skaters are encouraged to wear neon or white. Glow sticks will be given out to all skaters.

There will be a Noon toast as well as character visits and a family photo booth.
