Pride Season kicks of June 1 and St. Catharines is ready get proud and loud! Every June, Niagara Pride Week brings people together to reflect on the the resilience, recognize the contributions and celebrate the talents of 2SLGBTQI+ communities.
Pride Niagara kicks off a week full of activities Saturday, June 1 at the Meridian Centre with the Pride Niagara Kickoff Party, featuring RuPaul’s Drag Race star Roxxxy Andrews.
Pride celebrations return to Montebello Park Saturday, June 8 with the 11th Annual Pride in the Park, an outdoor event for all ages with LGBTQ2+ friendly entertainment, family-friendly activities, food and merchandise vendors, a fully licensed area with DJs, dance floor and more! Pride in the Park will feature the Canada’s Drag Race breakout star Aurora Matrix.
Pride Niagara is partnering with Brock University Professional and Continuing Studies to present the 2nd annual Speaking with Pride Professional Development and Networking Event Thursday, June 6. This education session is for 2SLGBTQ+ positive organizations, individuals and allies who want to enhance and/or improve their Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging practices; as well as individuals who want to inspire change in their workplace or advance their career to foster change. Attendees will hear from Keynote speaker – Brock McGillis, a former OHL Hockey player who is now a 2SLGBTQ+ advocate and EDI consultant.
