Join Brock University in St. Catharines for Eclipse on the Escarpment: Celestial viewing and educational exhibits Monday, April 8 during the rare total solar eclipse.
On Monday, , a rare total solar eclipse will cast its shadow over parts of Ontario when the moon completely covers the sun. Niagara is within the path of totality making St. Catharines one the best places in Canada to experience this wonder.
In Ontario, the eclipse is expected to start at around 2:04 p.m. and continue until about 4:30 p.m. In St. Catharines, the sun will be fully eclipsed for approximately three minutes from 3:18 p.m. to 3:21 p.m.

Experience Solar Eclipse 2024 at Brock University
Mark your calendars for an unforgettable celestial event! On April 8th Brock University invites you to experience the magic of the 2024 total eclipse with a day filled with wonder and discovery as we gather to witness this rare cosmic phenomenon. The free event is open to the public and runs from 12-4 p.m. at Brock University. The total eclipse – when the moon is closest to the center of the sun – is expected to occur at 3:19 p.m.
Brock will have a limited number of viewing glasses available for free. First come, first served. Visitors may participate in both outdoor (weather permitting) and indoor (the Ian Beddis Gymnasium) festivities and activities, including educational booths offer programming to guests.
